“Dreams don’t ask for permission.
They demand courage.”
Her heart was still pounding from the argument, but giving up wasn’t an option.
Dreams didn’t wait politely at gates — they broke through them.
When the guards got distracted by a delivery truck entering the premises, Niyati seized her moment. She ducked low, clutching her script tight, and slipped in behind the vehicle.
Her breath caught as she made it through. She was inside.
Film City. The place where stories were born.
She looked around in awe — crews running with cables, cameras on cranes, makeup artists rushing around. Everything looked alive, larger than life.
Following the sound of voices, she turned down a path lined with vanity vans and bright floodlights. Somewhere nearby, a man shouted — angry, sharp.
A small crowd had gathered near one of the sets. And there, in the middle of it, was Avyaan Parekh.
Her heart skipped a beat. He looked different in real life — taller, sharper, intensity in his eyes that no camera could capture.
But right now, those eyes were furious.
He had a man by the collar — one of the assistant crew members, maybe.
“How dare you talk to her like that?” Avyaan’s voice thundered. “You think you can misbehave with anyone just because you work on set?”
The man stammered, terrified. “S-sir, I didn’t mean—”
Avyaan shoved him back roughly. “Say another word, and you’ll never work in this industry again. Get out!”
The whole unit was silent.
Niyati, hidden behind a prop truck, watched the scene unfold — her fingers trembling around the script she’d come to deliver.
This wasn’t the Avyaan she’d seen in interviews or posters — this was someone raw, real, protective.
And yet… the suddenness of his rage scared her.
As he turned, still fuming, his eyes swept the area — and for a second, they almost met hers.
Niyati’s breath hitched. She stumbled back, heart pounding, and ducked behind the truck again.
What am I even doing here? she thought, panic rising.
If they find me, I’ll be thrown out before I even get to show my script.
But somewhere beneath the fear, another thought flickered —
He stood up for someone being wronged.
Niyati’s legs felt weak as she crouched behind the truck, trying to steady her breathing. The whole set buzzed with murmurs after the scene Avyaan had created. Crew members whispered, someone called for water, and the director’s assistant tried to calm everyone down.
She knew she had to leave — quietly, before anyone noticed she didn’t belong there.
She slowly turned, clutching her script tight, and started to move away. But just as she stepped out from behind the truck—
“Hey! Who are you?”
The voice was sharp, feminine, and carried authority.
Naina froze.
Standing just a few feet away was Anaya puri.
Up close, she was breathtaking — perfectly styled even after the chaos, eyes rimmed with kajal, expression unreadable. Her bodyguard and makeup artist hovered behind her, confused.
“I—I’m sorry,” Niyati stammered. “I didn’t mean to—”
Anaya crossed her arms, her gaze narrowing. “You’re not from the crew. How did you even get in?”
Niyati swallowed hard, trying to think of something — anything. “I… I came to meet Mihir Sehgal, ma’am. I have a script. I just wanted him to see it once—”
Anaya arched an eyebrow. “Oh really? You sneaked into a film set for that?”
Her voice wasn’t cruel, but it was cold — the kind that made Niyati’s stomach twist.
“I know it was wrong,” Niyati said quickly, clutching her script like a lifeline. “But please, I’ve worked on this story for two years. If he just reads it—”
Anaya sighed and glanced toward the crew; some of whom were now watching the little scene unfold.
“Security!” she called out. “There’s an intruder here.”
Niyati’s heart stopped. “No! Please don’t— I’m not here to cause trouble, I swear!”
Anaya hesitated for a second — maybe because she could see the desperation in the girl’s eyes. But before she could respond—
A deep voice spoke from behind her.
“What’s going on?”
It was Avyaan.
His tone was calm now, but it carried weight. His eyes moved from Anaya to Niyati — confusion flickering when he saw her face for the first time.
Niyati felt her breath hitch under his gaze.
This was it — the moment she’d imagined a hundred times…
But not like this. Not trembling, not accused, not terrified.
And as Avyaan’s brows furrowed, she knew — the next few seconds could either destroy her dream or change her life forever.
